Here at Lōzen Fitness, we want to help you reach your goal regardless of your age or current ability.
This class is designed for people ages 55+ who are new or returning to the gym and would like more warm-up time and mobility work along with strength and cardio.
The majority of the programming focuses on functional strength training to help you live confidently and independently.
It also mixes in balance training, brain games, and fall preparedness in a fun, interactive and supportive environment.
By training with us, you won't ever have to worry about your ability to get up from the floor, climb a flight of stairs, carry in your groceries again, or any other daily task.
Our program is crafted and overseen by a physical therapist, Dr. Marcus Werner, who has a passion for geriatric wellness.

Why is it only 55y/o+?
We created this class so people ages 55 and up would have a safe space to workout with people in similar phases of life.
Our goal is to make you as comfortable as possible while coaching you to unlock your greatest potential.

Do I need to be 'in-shape' or to start?
If you can walk into the gym, this program is for you.
We will work with you to modify the workout to fit your abilities. Many of our members are starting for the first time or starting again after a long time away.

I’m too old or I have ____ diagnosis, can I participate?
Absolutely! We’d argue that you have the most to gain from our program.We will help you improve your strength, balance and endurance, regardless of your age or diagnosis.
We will always consider these things to modify the workout to be safe and effective.

Is lifting weights safe at my age?
You bet!
You lift your groceries, laundry, vacuum, etc everyday
Those have a weight.
Why would lifting dumbbells, kettlebells, plates, bands and barbells be any different?
With the guidance of our skilled coaching staff, you will be able to safely perform and modify any exercise.

What if I have a medical condition or injury?
The class is overseen by Doctors of Physical Therapy and coaches who understand injuries and other medical conditions.
We are specialists in working around injuries and considering your diagnosis to build strength and endurance to live a healthy life.

What are classes like?
The class is 45-60 minutes.
Each session will have a unique focus; however, each day will build on the next to contribute to improving flexibility, strength, endurance, balance, and confidence in your physical abilities.

Will I be sore?
Do not worry, soreness, muscle tenderness, mild pain for a day or two after exercise is completely normal.
It’s called delayed onset muscle soreness and will go away in a few days.
It’s usually a result from trying something new or stressing the muscles more than normal.
As your body gets more accustomed to movements and exercises, the soreness will go away.
What can I do if I am sore?
Get active! Less intense exercises such as walking or light biking can help improve the blood flow through the muscle and allow them to repair and rebuild stronger.
